The Chicago Short Comedy Video and Film Festival has been discontinued, as of 2012. Thanks very much to all the talented Chicago comedy filmmakers, writers and actors who made this event the high-quality festival it was, and also to the loyal sponsors, coordinators, judges, volunteers and audience members. Why is it ending? Because times have changed greatly since it began 15 years ago. Then, a theater-venue festival for Chicago-made short comedy films was a real happening. Today, video-sharing websites are the preferred medium for short films.
Although the festival has been discontinued, we're keeping stored on this site the information about past winners and participants. And as always, if you need to reach any of the filmmakers whose work was screened in the past, we're glad to put you in touch.
For Chicagoans making longer comedy films there is still the opportunity of the Chicago Comedy TV Pilot Competition; details on this site.
Thanks for your interest in Chicago comedy!
